1. The minimum education requirements shall be the passing of B.Sc.(N)/B.Sc.Hons./Post B.Sc.Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks.
2. The candidate should have undergone the full time (regular stream not distance mode) course in B.Sc.(N)/B.Sc.Hons.Nursing/Post Basic B.Sc.(N) in any institution which is recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
3. Minimum one year of experience after Basic B.Sc.(N) as on 30th April 2007 in any institution / hospital or as a full time Public Health Nurse.
4. Minimum one year of experience prior or after Post Basic B.Sc.(N) (regular stream).
5. The candidate should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.
6. Male candidates should have passed any other course prescribed by INC in place of Midwifery and it should have been registered with the State Nursing Council. These candidates are not eligible for admission to M.Sc.(N) – Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing irrespective of their experiences in the area.
7. Candidates should be medically fit.
8. All candidates who gain admission have to submit the Eligibility Certificate from the Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai at the time of final registration for admission.
III. FELLOWSHIPS IN NURSING
A) FELLOWSHIP IN FAMILY NURSE PRACTICE (I YEAR)
(This Fellowship is designed to prepare nurses for advanced nursing practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner. A Family Nurse Practitioner is a registered graduate nurse who undergoes additional advanced preparation to provide primary health care to clients across the life span, primarily in families and ambulatory care settings, practicing in collaboration with Physician/Surgeon).
1. Basic B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing for Trained Nurses Graduates with a minimum of one year of experience as on 31th July 2007 in any clinical area in the hospital or in the community.
2. Must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife
3. Male candidates should have passed the alternate course prescribed by INC in place of
Midwifery and it should have been registered with the State Nursing Council.
B)FELLOWSHIP IN HAEMATOLOGY NURSING (I YEAR)

DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES (12 MONTHS)
B.Sc /Diploma in Nursing Graduates with a minimum of one year of experience as on 31 July 2007 in any clinical area in the hospital or in the community.
Must be a Registered Nurse and Registered mid-wife.
Male candidates should have passed the alternate course prescribed by INC in place of Midwifery and it should have been registered with the State Nursing Council.
